THE AUTHOR

For over 25 years, Marty Morris was one of the most influential Republican staffers on Capitol Hill. As Chief of Staff for Indiana Senator Richard Lugar, he helped shape public policy on foreign affairs, nuclear weapons, agriculture, and publichealth. A shrewd analyst and campaign strategist, he directed four (and won three) U.S. Senate campaigns.
Morris continues to consult on local and national political campaigns. A proud fourth-generation Hoosier, Marty played college football at Duke University before earning a JD from the Cumberland School of Law. For several years, he taught the “Campaigns to Congress” course at Duke University.
